The temperature of a cooling object is T = 20 C at time t 0 . At that instant its temperature is changing at a rate of - 1 C/sec. (a) Estimate its temperature 5 seconds after t 0 . (b) Estimate its temperature 3 seconds before t 0 . 3. The volume of water in a tank is is function of time, V ( t ), with volume in ft 3 and t in minutes. Suppose that V (2) = 10 ft 3 and V (2) = 0 . 5 ft 3 /min. (a) Estimate V (0) (b) Estimate V ( t ) for any time t near t = 2. 4. The price of a certain commodity is $24.50 per pound at a certain instant in time. Suppose that at that instant the price is dropping at a rate of 25 cents per pound per hour. What will the price be in an hour? In 2 hours? Pay careful attention to units.
