ENGR 1412 - INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER PROGRAMMING FALL 2011, JOHANNES 1 of 5 Project #4 - Due during the Week of Oct 3 – 7, 2011 (Beginning of Labs) Making Decisions and Improvements 1. Update the Sub programs in Part 2b and 2c of Project #3 to handle poor input data. As an example consider the Volume of a Paraboloid program, a negative value for the radius (or height) might be given by the user. The program currently does not check the input for valid entries … add an IF-THEN structure to the area and volume programs you wrote in Project#3 to ensure that no ‘bad’ calculations are being made. Validation of this task requires you confirm the program(s) still work correctly for valid inputs and also work ‘catching’ and appropriately handle bad input data as well. 2. Program to determine if an input number is palindrome (Draw flowchart). Write a VBA Sub program to determine a FOUR digit number entered by the user can be classified as a palindrome. A palindrome refers to a number (or word) that when written backwards results in the same number (or word). Ex.: 1221, 131, “anna” are all palindromes, while 1234, 133, “math” are not. 3. Program for temperature conversions (Draw flowchart). Write a VBA program to convert input temperature from one temperature unit to another based on the user’s selection of the input and output units. Your program should ask the user for a numeric input (temperature value) and also have the user select the input temperature unit ( o F, o C, Kelvin, Rankine). The user should then be prompted for the output temperature unit ( o F, o C, Kelvin, Rankine). Perform the conversions based on the
