Unformatted text preview: John Fitzpatrick Ever since I was a child, I have always been interested in building things. When I was young I would work with my dad and build wooden cars and airplanes; he would buy the parts from the store. There would always be something new to build and it was never the same design. As I learned more about architecture I got involved with anything pertaining to it. For a couple years I was interested in robotics and I really enjoyed coming up with designs on how to build them. This is just one of the many types of designs that I have studied and created. I recently was involved with Habitat for Humanity, which is an organization that helps build homes for families who are not fortunate enough to buy one. It was a great experience because I had not yet been able to help build something on such a large scale. The biggest project before that was building a shed in my backyard with my dad, and before that, the deck to my pool. I helped on the inside of the house, working with the designs of the doors.
