Drouin Helps Big Ten Rout SEC in Challenge By Christopher Webb IU’s multi-talented junior Derek Drouin help launched the outdoor season for the IU track and field squad with some rather outstanding performances at the Big Ten/SEC Challenge. Results : Drouin finished the competition winning two events to help the Big Ten take the challenge on the men side as the Big Ten routed the SEC conference with a score of 399 to 337. The women of IU also garnered a challenge victory with a score of 379 to 349, as Indiana accounted for 102.5 points of the 379 total. Summary : Drouin took the high jump that included a field with four All-Americans, with a clearance of 2.23-meters. He then showed why he is regarded as the “silent assassin”, by demonstrating his versatility in his repertoire with a quiet and unexpected win in the 110 meter

IU was also competing at the Stanford Invitational over the weekend were junior Andrew Poore clocked an IU record in the 10,000-meters with a time of 28:48.02 but fell short with a fifth place finish.
