Gregory Sicard February 7, 2008 I could not picture myself living in Guy Montag’s world. In our society, the United States has similarities that portray Guy Montag’s society because there are many people in America who play the same role that Mildred plays in the book, and censorship is right now. The media is being affected by censorship because society is deprived of a lot of events that are happening, in which we have little or no knowledge of. Personally, I think that we all need freedom and the right to carve our own lives in society and see how much we can accomplish in our society. I would forever be tormented if I knew that I was unable to show and express my emotions, Or of being in the pursuit of happiness, and being aware of my feelings. It is only human to be able to express oneself, but the society that Montag lives in steals it from the souls of the citizens as if having vivid emotions is sinful. I would not want to live in a world where cars drive so fast that they don’t have the time to stop and glance at the beautiful scenery that the world has to offer. Clarisse talks about when she is driving in her uncle’s car, she says “I sometimes think drivers don’t know what grass is, or flowers, because they never see them slowly”[pg9]. I can vividly remember road trips to Florida and all the things that I saw on the way there. I’ve witnessed
