Gregory Sicard C.C 2.2 T2r Professor Banerjee December 2, 2008 Significance in the Modern World Primary documents have been influential in the modern world because they bring forth evidence of historical events that took place at an era in which we were not born yet. There is abundance of evidence which is revealed through firsthand documents such as autobiographies, letters and documents that come from firsthand accounts. Florence Nightingale’s primary document “On Rural Hygiene” impacted the modern world in a positive manner and portrayed many difficulties in regards to the industrial revolution and how it grew into this enormous monster. Florence Nightingales primary document enabled me to use the observation tools which I learned from the course to reveal the significance of firsthand accounts and how it affected the modern world. Industrialization grew at its peak and continues to grow; as industrialization grows so do health issues and sanitary issues. Florence Nightingale played an enormous role in keeping
