Antigone- a clear masterpiece of showing how rules and laws took place in ancient Greece, thousands of years ago. This play shows us what powers did women have and till what extent they could go in those days. Also, this play shows us how city-state was to be chosen over family. Today – we chose our families over state laws and incase of violations we do get considered to be innocent. But during those days, morally you may be innocent but the laws would call you a criminal. In this play, we can see the power of women in those days. They were challenging and they were daring. They did not care about the rules and regulations which were placed before them. Especially, Antigone being a princesses, she went beyond one could have thought she could have gone. Also, one can see that Antigone knows that her act would mean she being sentenced to death by the King. Still she went on that path. Also, we can see that women no doubt were able to take charge – in state affairs and in military way. Women too joined military
