Mohammed Makda Section B7 February 19, 2010 Response Paper # 2 Esmond Wright writes in his article about Benjamin Franklin – one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. The author focuses on the life if the noble man Franklin and his life on London streets. The article titled as ‘Benjamin Franklin: An American in London’. It came to my mind that it would relate to Franklin’s life fighting for American independence in London, but instead the writer focused how Franklin loved the streets of London. The name Benjamin Franklin to most men in the world is recollected as a Founding Father of the United States and his love for the country but few know that Franklin was also referred to as an Old England man. “In these years, was proud to be an American, he was also, in his own phrase, an Old England man.” There is no doubt that Franklin loved America and was an American child, but he stayed in Europe especially in London was about two decades. In his time in London, Franklin made some good friends and some close friends in due course of time. The author also points out
