Mohammed W. Makda UGC-111 Section K-9 Extra Credit Assignment Egypt Egypt – the gift of the Nile as said. Egypt lies in northern Africa. Like India, Egypt also has natural defensive features. It has the Nile valley in the east and west to protect from external invasion. Towards the south it has the impassable waterfalls against Nubia and towards the north the Mediterranean border. Egypt has a strong history and most of it still exists in the present day. There is no doubt about the rich culture of Egypt which lasted a few hundred of years ago, and the proof still exists. The kings in Egypt were called Pharoahs. The kings ruled and wanted to have a single state. The aim of every King was to unite Egypt. Egypt has three time period in which they had kingdoms. The Old Kingdom, the Middle Kingdom and the New Kingdom. Every king brought with him new ideas and strategy to build the nation. Egypt had administrative office along the Nile and also the religious temples. For burial, huge structures were built for king in order to give them a luxury life after death. Not only kings, but simple structures were also created for
