Anabela dos Ramos November 15, 2009 Prof. Fagundes Portuguese 320 Exam 1 Even today, after many centuries, we observe the positive and direct works of Gomes Eanes de Azurara and Fernão Lopes. The two historians are known for their various chronicles that consist of important documentation of their time. Though it has been centuries later, both historians still live in our history books today and continue to be highly spoken of because of their ability to pull out literary images of the human persona. Azurara and Lopes are still a big part of history. Fernão Lopes brought forth to history the history of Portugal during his era, and Gomes Eanes de Azurara the history of the discovery of Guiné. In their form of writing, they seem to adapt a lot of poetry and drama to their chronicles. This not only keeps a dramatic or poetic movement throughout the readings, but also reveals their means of self-expression and their backgrounds as well. It may be evident that Azurara might have adapted some of his ways of writing
