2 Civil Liberties & the Supreme Court The Bill of Rights makes up the first ten amendments to the Constitution. It guarantees civil rights and liberties to all individuals. The Judicial part of our administration, to be specific to the Supreme Court, gives a definitive decision with regards to the understanding and execution of the Constitution and the freedoms it broadens. At the point when the Supreme Court hears a case, it normally becomes a point of reference set for the country as it is the most elevated court in the land. One particular case that I found interesting was Terrence Byrd v United States of America, where the Fourth Amendment was challenged. Would the Fourth Amendment apply to the search of a rental car being operated by an individual who had the renter’s permission to operate the vehicle but is not listed on the rental agreement. The Fourth Amendment “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” (U.S. Constitution) This is the fourth amendment.
