Unformatted text preview: Aaron New English 101 – Response 4 Instructor: Prof. Valerie Bandura Finn (32073) Nov-16-09 After reading the evaluative essay on ‘Why I Hate Britney’, I felt that this essay is not very convincing. The writer, Nisey Williams focused mainly on one aspect for her evaluation. She evaluated Britney based on her actions and character. She then ended up with a conclusion of hating Britney due to the influence she brings on young girls. From the essay I could tell that to Nisey, a good character is important. In her example, she praised Avril Lavigne for standing firm on her style despite being under the limelight of such industry. In her essay, Nisey uses both qualitative and quantitative criteria. She indicated that the clothes Britney wears on her music videos are inappropriate with a qualitative argument by saying “Several other female artists don’t sell their bodies in order to sell their music.” Also, the quantitative criteria she provided to support her view is, among ten girls, two girls...
