Reflective Essay Brainstorming: 1. Pretend you are writing a letter to a friend who is going to take Engl 102 next semester. Tell them about your experience, and give them the benefit of what you have learned – including mistakes you have made, or things you might have done better. What advice would you give? What outside help would you recommend? What assignments were helpful – and why? What assignment would you suggest “blowing off” – and why? 2. What was the best piece you have written this semester? Think about the Unit essays, as well as reflections and posting on black board. What makes this your best piece of writing? 3. What is your favorite piece that someone else in class wrote? (Could be something you peer reviewed, or something on blackboard). What made it memorable? 4. What was your favorite day of class? Why? Least favorite? . . . 5. What research techniques were you already familiar with before English 102? What have you learned about research? What new / improved skills have you gained?
