Nothing special today about them, because tomorrow we will have something bigger/better. 3) Accidental Launch – based on misperception. a. Mistakes can be made. a.i. Canadian geese that look like fighter jets on rader. 4) Stimulates Arms Race a. More offensive weapons made. b. Types of Arms Races b.i. Offensive – attack only (using ICBMs) b.ii. Defensive – defending only (using ABMs) b.ii.1. If you make more offensive weapons it raises the chances for increased conflict. b.iii. Quantative – race in numbers (building up weapons stockpiles) b.iv. Qualitive – racing to build things that don’t exist yet.
