The beginning of the Cold War The US and the USSR had tension…started in 1946…no combat  occurred between the US and USSR, it will end in the late 80’s  with Reagan as president… Communism vs. Capitalism US refused to recognized the Bolshevik Revolutionary Government The refusal to open a second front until late in the war Two different versions of the post war world, FDR wanted an open world, USSR  wanted security and friendly countries on their borders… The nations had a different kind of missionary diplomacy
