Web. 21 Sept. 2011. Vol. 87. No. 1: pp.215-27. Problem: Obesity is one of the biggest killers of humans. The most depressing part of obesity is that it can be prevented. The everyday decisions of the individual, as well as family history ultimately determine whether one is obese or not. Hypothesis: If we can be more aware of the decisions we make, as well as the results of those decisions, we can greatly reduce the obesity rate. Politicians and policy makers must use their leverage to make laws and regulations to aid in the goal of reduction of obesity. Methods: In June 2008, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention met to discuss the obesity issue at the National Summit on Legal Preparedness for Obesity Prevention and Control.
