Overview. This handout explains to export your iMovie file as a QuickTime movie formatted for our website. You should save your iMovie proj- ect folder and take it with you. Later, you may want to export it as a higher or lower quality QuickTime movie for other purposes. Exporting your iMovie file You cannot put your iMovie file on the Web; you have to output it as a QuickTime movie. Most Internet browsers will display a .MOV file. 1. When you are finished editing your video, save the iMovie file. 2. File menu > Export. 3. In the panel, click the QuickTime icon. 4. In the Compress movie for: menu choose Expert Settings. Click the Share button. 5. Rename the file with your IU username and leave the .mov extension. Do NOT click Save. CAUTION . You must name your file with your IU username, otherwise it will not get linked to your Web page and you will not get credit for your work on this assignment. 6.
