Derive both the partition function and F , S , U and C v for the Einstein model. Sketch a plot of C v and point out where the Debye model limit and the Delong-Petite model limit are on the sketch. b. Using a computer program other than Excel, plot C v of a simple cubic Einstein crystal. The plot should look similar to your sketch in part a and to figure 6.1 in Gaskell. Plot as a function of the temperature in the range of 0 – 500 K. Repeat the plot for each of the following values of the Einstein temperature, E : 100K; 200K; 300K; 500K. Show plots on one graph. 2.
