Building a Health History
The new patient in this interview scenario is a pre-school-aged white female living in
a rural community. To make the communication during interview efficient and successful, I
will first inquire if the patient understands English. If it happens that she cannot speak or
understand English or both, I will look for an interpreter. For the post, I will recommend a
risk assessment instrument in addition to five targeted questions for the patient.
The Interview and Chosen Communication Techniques
Aging is one process in a human’s lifecycle. Aging is the process of growing old.
Aging comes with several health complications that can make life hard for the aged. As
mentioned earlier, I will first seek a common language that both of us can understand if there
is none, interpretation will be sought. This will facilitate effective communication between
the woman and I. Additionally, privacy will be essential as one of the research principles
