A drug is any substance that modifies (either by enhancing, in habiting, or  distorting) mind and/or body functioning What is a psychoactive drug? Psychoactive drugs are defined as compounds (substances) that affect the  central nervous system and/or alter consciousness and/or perceptions. Why is drug use call an  equal opportunity affliction? The anyone, no matter what socio-economic status, is kept from drugs, and  all have the ability to get addicted to drugs. Are drugs a relatively new things to society? No they have been using them since ancient times (Greeks). As early as  2204 BC they were trying to regulate them as well. Are there any noticeable differences between drugs today and ones in previous  times? Approximately 80% of currently marketed drugs were unknown or unavailable   20 years ago Four Factors that affect Drug Experience 1. Pharmacological Factors i.
