Matthew Francis REL C 130, Section 5 Brother Bott First Thought Paper For this thought paper I will be writing on the second option—describing a significant experience in my life—however, to me the experience to follow would fit any of the options. This life altering experience was that of my patriarchal blessing. It was July 20, 2008, at 5 pm. I walked to the door of Patriarch Haderlie, my parents a step behind. Upon entering the home, my previous day’s sickening nervousness was instantly replaced by a warm, calm feeling. It was then that I knew for a surety that I was in the right place, doing the right thing; this is where God wanted me. That was greatly confirmed soon thereafter by the Spirit present during the time of my blessing. It was indescribable, but as my grade depends on its description, I will do my best. It was at that time that I, for the very first time in life, knew without a doubt that I had a Father in heaven. That He knew me individually, and that He loved me.
