Unformatted text preview: Max Haubold Extra Credit 8 I think I exhibit many of the different coping strategies mentioned in the book. Many times, I am one to bottle things up and lash out at people. This is something I have been trying to change however. I guess the best way to describe how I handle stress is by going through the sections and giving examples of when I have used the method. The first method is using humor as a stress reducer. This means joking about a very stressful situation. Last year, my mom tried to kill herself. This was very stressful. While talking to a friend about suicide, I joked about it and he became very defensive. I explained my situation, and we found that we had very different ways of handling it. The second technique I use is releasing pent-up emotions. An example of this happens regularly. Many people hang out in my room, because I always have food, seating, and a big TV.
