The prerequisite for this course is MAC 2311 with a grade of ‘C’ or higher. Topics in this course include differentiation and integration of exponential, logarithmic, and other transcendental functions, techniques of integration, indeterminate forms, conic sections, sequences, and infinite series. A minimum grade of ‘C’ is required if MAC 2312 is used to satisfy Gordon Rule and/or general education requirements. Learning Outcomes: This course will enable a student to achieve the following learning outcomes: 1) Demonstrate an understanding of differentiation and its applications. 2) Demonstrate an understanding of integration and its applications. 3) Demonstrate an understanding of sequences and series. Required Materials: 1. Single Variable Calculus 6 th edition by James Stewart 2. A Graphing Calculator (the instructor will be using the TI-84 PLUS for classroom demonstration) Note: Any calculator with a built-in C.A.S. such as the TI-89 or TI-92 may not be used on in class tests. Optional Materials: Student Solutions Manual Homework: There will be homework assignments (both textbook and non-textbook) assigned throughout the semester. The homework problems are taken from the textbook and will be posted regularly on the website http://faculty.valenciacollege.edu/koverhiser/ . There will be time allotted at the beginning of each class to go over selected textbook homework problems. The homework grade for this course will be earned through the completion of non-textbook homework assignments. These assignments are to be done individually and are based on a series of ten worksheets that you will complete throughout the course. These worksheets along with their respective due dates are listed in a separate document. I do
