ANP 264 G REAT D ISCOVERIES IN A RCHAEOLOGY TU-TH 3:00-4:20 C107 M C D ONEL H ALL Lecture Outline (Naked Science – Prehistoric Americans) In this documentary, we move away from archaeology as adventure to the reality of archaeology, which is that it is a  science. In this video you will be exposed several of the scientific methods and tools that archaeologists use in  studying human achievements in the past.  In this case study, the video documents the ongoing debate concerning  three topics:  1) What were these first peoples lives like?  2) When did the first peoples arrive in the Americas? 3) Where did they come from?  Over the course of the viewing, your task is to document the following: 1) Identify the debates concerning these topics?  Why is there a debate to begin with? In other words, what is it that  archaeologists agree or disagree on regarding these debates?  2) What evidence is used in these debates to support one idea over the other?  3) What are the scientific methods and tools that are being used, and can you identify if any of these might be  controversial or problematic?  In other words, besides showing you these methods and tools, what does the
