IBM WBI Modeler Case Study Michigan State University ITM 309 Spring 2011 Business Processes: WBI In-Class Practice Activities II Recitation #3: Websphere Business ModelerJanuary 26/27 Objective: Be able to model a realistic process utilizing a textual description. The purpose of this tutorial is to enable you to practice creating process models using textual descriptions. In the last recitation, you were introduced to WBI and began learning how to use it. This week, we will be moving closer to how process modeling happens in the real world. As future business leaders, part of your responsibilities will include improving how work gets done in your organization, function, or team. Process improvements will mean working with your fellow co- workers who are doing some specific tasks, analyzing how work gets done by recording their comments, and then creating a hand drawn process map to document the entire flow of work. After the process map is input into WBI, then you should check with them to determine its accuracy regarding how closely the WBI process map resembles how work actually gets done.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
