About 50% of total kcal per day About 1200 kcal or 300 grams Athletes about 60% 2. About how much carbohydrate is required just for brain/nerve cells and general activities? Needs about 75g per day 125-150g per day for normal activities Need 200-25g CHO per normal day 3. The graph below is from a study we talked about. What is the take-home message regarding the carbohydrate needs of athletes in active training? The 40% group could not replenish muscle glycogen between training days but runners on a 70% CHO diet could. Surprisingly, runners with low muscle glycogen were able to complete their intense daily workouts . 4. What are the common techniques that can increase levels of stored glycogen? How effective are they? What is the big difference between them?
