Where is body fluid found and what proportions are intracellular and extracellular? Body is mainly composed of fat and fat-free mass. The Fat free mass is mainly fluid (water and the “stuff” dissolved in that water) 50-70% of adult body is composed of fluid (depends on body fat and lean mass) Intracellular fluid= about 2/3 of the fluids that is within the body cells Extracellular fluid = 1/3 found between the cells o The fluid portion of the blood is plasmas which is also part of the extracellular fluid. 2. Approximately what % of the blood are red cells? How much is plasma? The rise in plasma volume can cause blood pressure to rise. Losing plasma volume (dehydration) can cause low blood pressure
