The exhibits in this lab illustrate the following optical effects: 1. Diffraction (Table I) 2. Reflection and Refraction (Table II) 3. Thin convex lenses (Table III) 4. Color Addition (Table III) 1 THE EXHIBITS Table I: Diffraction Station 1: Observing the Diffraction Grating Look through the two microscopes focused on the slides. One of them magnifies the slide by 400 times, the other magnifies it by 1000 times. Station 2: Finding Roy G. Biv in white light through Diffraction White light from a lamp is observed through a diffrac- tion grating. Station 3: Observing the Spectral Lines of Hydrogen. Light from Hydrogen emission is observed through a diffraction grating. Table II: Reflection and Refraction Station 4: Multiple Reflections of Light Here we have two mirrors facing each other and a little off center from each other. Light will reflectlittle off center from each other....
