Unformatted text preview: Review Notes For Exam 7 SAR Physics AM Kolchin I. Electric Circuits For this section, please refer mainly to the class notes posted in ECircuitsR35.pdf for the details since they are quite brief. We covered: 1. Extensive Application of Ohm’s Law: V = IR or I = V/R . 2. Extensive use of Power: P = V I . 3. Hydraulic Analogs to Electrical Circuits. 4. Series and Parallel Circuits: Analysis of Currents, Voltages, and Resistances. 5. Current and Power overloading of power lines due to having too many appliances hooked up in paral- lel and the use of a fuse to prevent unpleasant conse- quences. 6. Equivalent Circuit and Equivalent Resistance We also saw that we can replace a system of resistances in series or parallel by an equivalent resistance seen by the wires leading to such a system. Replacing such a system by this equivalent resistance gives us what we call an ” equivalent circuit ”....
