Leon 1 Stefan Leon GVPT170 27 January 2011 America’s population is made up of immigrants from around the world. This makes it hard to pinpoint what exactly is a true American or American culture because it differs throughout the country. What might seem traditional in the North may be considered foreign in the South and the other way around. How a Chinese-American family in New York lives could be a polar opposite to how an Irish-American family in Boston lives. What can be perceived as a flaw has helped turn America into the world leader it is today. In spite of the many vast differences between citizens at the end of the day they are all Americans. Even the name, The United States of America, recognizes that connection between all people across the large land mass that is America. The symbol of America that is recognized around the world is the stars and stripes of the American Flag. The flag is more than just a flag but a representation of the unity in America, it is shared by all Americans, it is unbiased and unwavering in its acceptance. It treats all people as
