Leon 1 Stefan Leon October 20, 2010 MUSC 205 Jimi Hendrix Johnny Allen Hendrix was born November 27, 1942 in Seattle, Washington. After a rough childhood Hendrix began to listen to Elvis Presley, Muddy Waters, and B.B King, which helped develop his love for music. Hendrix was expelled from high school and after some run-ins with the law was forced to join the army. After the Army Hendrix continue to pursue his musical career and eventually found himself in New York City. After initial struggles he eventually achieved success in the UK and ultimately released the album Are you experienced” which made it to number two on the UK charts. Two things that help contribute to the legend of Jimi Hendrix are his fashion and his drug use. He wore silk shirts, silk jackets, bandanas, and various scarves tied around one leg or an arm. Early in his career his clothes were solid colors but eventually became more exotic and brightly colored. as Jimi’s career progressed.
