Instructions:
As you work the given problems, write all work you want to be graded in your exam booklets.
Only the exam booklets will be collected at the end of the exam. Be sure to show your work and
draw a box or circle around all final answers. You can receive partial credit for incorrect answers
provided that the work is legible and understandable. Be sure to cross out or erase any incorrect
work.
This is an open book exam, but only the class textbooks (Marion/Thorton and Taylor) are
allowed. Other materials, including the Student’s Solution Manual, Lecture Notes, Homework
Solutions, or private notes of any kind, may
not be
used. Calculators and other electronic devices
are prohibited and
may not
be used on this exam. Cell phones must be turned off and put away.
There is an information sheet at the end of the exam that contains possibly useful formulae,
integrals, and expansions. I remind you that the appendices of your text also have many useful
mathematical formulas.
You have
75 minutes
to complete the
4 problems
on the exam. After this time, you must stop
