Reflection on Seven Habits Profile
The results of completing the “Seven Habits Profile” are what I expected. I know my weakest
links as a leader is work life balance, putting first things first and seek first to understand. I know an area
of focus in developing as a leader is to be more sensitive to others feelings. Not everyone feels the way I
do and I need to recognize that sooner in order maintain/build a better relationships with my employees.
The remainder of the results of the “Seven Habits Profile” are all similar ranging from 12-15; majority
being 14. This falls in line with what I believe is my current leadership style is; situational leadership.
This paper will investigate the leadership style and practices I have identified associated with
myself. A review of my strengths and weaknesses, as well as changes will be discussed.
The last section of the paper will provide two SMART goals that will help improve my leadership
practice. A SMART goal is specific, measureable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound.
Personal Leadership Strengths
“Situational leadership refers to when the leader or manager of an organization must adjust his
style to fit the development level of the followers he is trying to influence” (Anthony, 2016).
Three
personal leadership strengths related to situational leadership are practicality, flexibility, and effectively
driving change (Situational, 2016).
Practicality is a strength of mine because it makes sense to treat everyone and everything as it is
fit for the situation at hand. Situational leadership is a practical leadership style.
