Scenario You are working on a telemetry unit and have just received a transfer from the ICU. The 70 year old male patient, Thomas, had a repair of an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) measuring 8 cm in diameter. This is his second postoperative day. Thomas is an attorney with an active practice, and is married to his college sweetheart; Ann. Ann does not work outside the home. She has severe osteoporosis and needs assistance with activities of daily living. Thomas states he has been blessed with two children and five grandchildren.
