My Paper Just like I think before I speak, I think before I act. Before I make a decision I consider two things: whether the choice I’m about to make is in accordance with my morals, ethics, and character, and how my decision will affect the future. For instance, when my father walked out on my family, I realized that feeling sorry for myself would get me nowhere, and made the decision most beneficial to my future; to pick myself up, support my mom and two sisters, and work towards getting myself a full ride to college. When the amount of stress on my shoulders set off the ticking time bomb in my genetic code and I developed hypothyroidism, leaving me in bed for the better part of nine months, I made the decision to not let being bedridden keep me from being successful. When the opportunity presented itself to cheat on the final exam in my AP US History class, and in doing so pass the class, I made the decision to take the test honestly and with integrity. I have worked hard all of my life, and have only got to where I am now by making
