The tocolytics can be remembered by It’s Not My Turn or Time.(Indomethacin, Nifedipine, Magnesium Sulfate, Terbutaline) Review the medication guidelines for the beta-adrenergic agonists and MgSO4, especially the nursing considerations. Review other drugs such as betamethesone , and Prepidil (prostaglandin gel). What is their purpose, action, route of administration? Are there any special guidelines? What is a serious side effect or complications of preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM)? How is it managed? Differentiate between hypertonic and hypotonic uterine dysfunction.
