The kinds of organizational design choices has Continental Can Company made are both vertical and horizontal differentiation, decentralization authority, mutual adjustment and integration like hierarchy of authority, direct contact, task force, and team. 2. CCC plant manager, Andrew Fox lets his staff run the plant. Plus, Fox wants his staff to have a sense of participation and sharing the responsibility for the plant income (424). To keep CCC running efficient, Fox meets with every staff departments to discuss on their budget planning and he also inspects every department frequently. For example, Whitelaw and Andrews do biweekly production control meetings to see how Whitelaw department is doing to keep the plant running efficiently (426).
