Essentials of Abnormal Psychology in a Changing World – with Speaking Out Video Package. Pearson Education Canada. Evaluation : Your performance will be evaluated according to the following breakdown: Participation: 10% Weekly Tests (x4): 10% (each) Diagnostic Paper: 20% Final exam: 30% « Participant Pool: 1.5% bonus Participation: Your participation grade will be tabulated using your submissions from our Think-Pair-Share discussions. Think-Pair-Share is a cooperative learning strategy design to promote and support higher-level thinking. Each Thursday, you will be asked to think about a specific topic, then pair with another student to discuss your thoughts. You will then have a few minutes to write down your thoughts as a pair – which will be submitted at the end of the class. We will then spend a few minutes discussing your ideas as a class. Each activity will constitute 2% of your final mark (up to a total of 10%). If you complete the 6 th Think-Pair-Share activity, this will be used for bonus marks on your final exam, adding 1% to your grade on the final exam. This allows you to miss one Thursday lecture without your grade being affected. You may submit these notes either electronically to myself (at the time the activity ends) or you may submit a hard copy at the end of class. In either case, your submission should have the names of both individuals in your pair printed legibly – if we cannot read this information, you will not receive credit. Participation assignments will not be accepted late under any circumstances. You are expected to form different pairs across the semester and partnerships that are unchanging across the semester will be ineligible for credit when noted. Occasional additional bonus points will be awarded for excellence in class participation. These points may be used
