SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT LIFE CYCLE (SDLC) 2 Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) The systems development life cycle (SDLC) is the traditional systems development method that organizations use for large-scale IT projects (Ranier & Turban, 2009). This system is composed of eight process systems according to Introduction to Information Systems . According to Towards a Higher-Level Systems Development Life Cycle, with Universal Applications , from International Journal of Management, SDLC is condensed into six steps. The steps in both are similar; Introduction to Information Systems has the steps more detailed in the eight steps. The first system is investigation system; this begins with the business problem and determines the practicality of going thru with a proposed project. It does this from a technical, economical behavioral and organizational view. After this is done it gives the information to a committee
