WEEK 9 CAPSTONE CHECKPOINT 2 Week 9 Capstone CheckPoint My ETH/125 Culture Diversity class has helped me better understand and relate to specific minority groups. There are many different races and ethnicity throughout the country and the world. These different races and ethnic groups have many differences but at the same time they have many things in common. America is a good example of this. In America there are many different groups of people but at the same time they all take from and contribute to making the American culture what it is. In this class I have had the opportunity to learn more about my own culture history. Being of Irish decent I have learned more of the hard times and troubles that my ancestors had to go through when arriving to and setting up in this country. I believe that tends in immigration will continue to remain high in the U.S. As a result of

Unformatted text preview: unjust acts and treatment within other countries, many individuals and families will continue to come to America to seek a better quality of life and freedom. As we move closer to the year 2050 I believe that we will see more immigrants form the Middle East. I also believe that there will always be some sort of prejudice here but I do think that it will never be on a large scale like this country has seen in its history. I think that the best way that the country could prepare for the changing race and ethnicity of its current and future is to do the best it can to get rid of all of the ignorance that is out there. I feel that one of the best ways that this could be done would be to have classes like this one taught earlier in a childs education. With becoming aware of how we are all different but at the same time the similar earlier in life, and then throughout life I think that we would see a significant drop in prejudice....
