Reading Assignment 1 1. Find one of the Experimental films discussed on pages 71-76. Which of Fred   Camper’s  6 criteria apply to it and how? (I was able to find most of them on Youtube or   Vimeo) Have the URL ready for class and be ready to discuss the film you chose. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLhu3Ea1G_4 -This film is not commercial because it was a collaboration between Spanish director  Luis Bunuel and artist Salvador Dali—it wasn’t filmed by a major motion picture studio. -This film does not conform to conventional expectations of story and narrative cause  and effect because it does not really have a plot and it jumps around in time, not really  following a specific storyline. -This film invites individual interpretation.  Since there isn’t really a plot, it is up to the  viewer to figure out what the film is about and what the message of the film is. 2. List the 6 conventions of Genre (page 81-83). Now choose a narrative genre film.
