Analyzing the six economic indicators tracked by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, to see how our economy is performing, I've provided my assessment of current status, change from previous year, and the trend for each indicator below (St. Louis Federal Reserve, 2011): 1. Real GDP Growth- a. Current Status: Compounded annual rate increase of 1.9% b. Change from last year: Declined by 1.2% (from 3.1% in 4th quarter 2010 to 1.9% in 1st quarter 2011) c. Trend: Declining (near same GDP growth rate as 3rd quarter 2010) 2. Consumer Price Index (CPI)- a. Current Status: Compounded annual rate decrease of 0.2% b. Change from last year: Declined by 0.4% (from 0.2% in June 2010 to -0.2% in June 2011) Same declination as that of mid-summer 2010. c. Trend: The CPI continues a sharp decline since March 2011 3. Industrial Production- a. Current Status: 0.2% b. Change from last year: Increase by 0.3% c. Trend: Difficult to determine, however, there has been positive industrial production since mid-2009. For the first half of 2011, there has been nearly equal negative and positive industrial production. 4. Interest Rates-
