1. What is the organization you are going to use? Why do you think it will be an interesting focus for your economic analysis? I selected the Ford Motor Company as my choice from the list of Fortune 500 companies. Currently, they are listed as #10 in the list reported on CNN Money's Fortune 500 list. There are several reasons why I selected this company. First, since the Ford automobile is an American icon, and thus, as a Soldier, relates to my patriotism for American-made over that of supporting foreign-made automobiles. I also wanted American built to support our economy, as I have never bought foreign-made vehicles, as a personal preference. A major reason for selecting the Ford Motor Company is that they did not take a federal bailout, as did other automobile manufacturers; Ford must be doing well. They have a great reputation for reliability with performance and maintenance. I have owned Ford vehicles many times before and have personal knowledge of that reputation. In fact, I currently own a 2009 Ford Explorer and a 2010 Ford Fusion. So, part of the decision process was also manufacturer loyalty. 2. Use the PowerPoint presentation in the background materials to learn more about the firm of your choice. a. Pick TWO of the economic terms presented in the PowerPoint Slides that apply to your organization. What are they? Explain how each applies to your organization. Demand: Ford continues to develop its marketing strategy based on consumer demand. Consumers voice their concerns related to their transportation needs, especially in a resourced constrained environment, to obtain the best value of comfort, style, fuel efficiency, reliability, etc. As America grows in population, new teenagers obtain a license, and become eager to own a
