I am nearly complete with one of my immediate goals; completing a Bachelor's Degree. In the early 1990's, I began my college education midway through my Army career. I had made a goal to achieve an Associate's Degree, then follow-on with the courses necessary to complete a Bachelor's Degree. However, with all the deployments, field exercises, duty requirements, and family life, it took me nearly seven years to complete my Associate's Degree with the University of Maryland, European Division. Before I realized it, I had been promoted to a very demanding position; Battery First Sergeant. With the demands of the job, the long work days, and the constant interruptions in the night, I put my college career on hold. By the time I was a Command Sergeant Major, I realized I had wasted several years. If I had only attempted one class at a time, I may have completed the Bachelor's Degree much earlier than now. With only two classes to remaining, I anticipate I will be holding a Bachelor's Degree before winter starts. What's my next goal? It is the attainment of a Master's Degree. ...
