HRMN 302 CASE STUDY NO.1 The Background Jill Collins has recently completed the training program in retail offered by the Talmart Corp. of Batesville, Arkansas. This program is noted for its ability to expose students to a variety activities and functions within the retail field. The program takes place in Batesville over one year period. After graduating from the training program, participants are sent throughout the US and the World, to take entry-level management positions in the growing number of Talmart facilities. Jill entered the program after 23 years in the US Army. She retired from the military as an E-8. One of the things that drew Jill to Talmart was the increasing involvement of the organization internationally. She read that Talmart’s profits, as much as 60%, were being generated by the international divisions, especially, Asia and Europe. Throughout Jill’s career, she was assigned at several international locations including Camp Zama, Japan, Camp Casey and Yongsan, Korea, Tuzla, Bosnia-Herzegovina,
