Jennifer Mayo Take-Home Final October 9, 2011 Exercise 9.2: Career Development Self-Assessment Exercise 1. The roles that are currently important to me are the following: a. Family life is important to me because I love hanging out with my husband and  talking to my family on the phone back home. They give me happiness and things  are always better when they are in your life. 35% b. School is very important to me. I wouldn’t feel fulfilled or satisfied if I wasn’t  trying to go for a degree or had not educational background. I think it is very  important to keep learning new things and know what is going on in the world.  35% c. Work is also important to me, because I need something to build my resume and  contribute to my family. 20% d. Volunteer activities – I love to volunteer at the hospital, it gives me a sense of  satisfaction. I always wanted to be a doctor but since I cannot see blood, I  volunteer there to still feel like I have a taste of it.  10% 2. Describe your background and experiences, including: a. Education: I am currently attending University Maryland University College –  Asia for a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Human Resource. I  should be expected to earn this degree Spring 2012 b. Work experience:  b.i. Computer Lab Staff – UMUC Asia – Aug 2011 to present b.ii. Receptionist at AAFES Beauty Salon – Aug 2010 to March 2011 c. Skills: c.i. Can speak German fluently c.ii. Hardworking c.iii. Knowledge in Microsoft Office d. Extracurricular Activities: d.i. Volunteer at the Kadena Clinic at the Pharmacy a couple times a week e. Accomplishments: e.i. Graduated High School in 2008 with a 3.8 GPA and 12
