Feldmar “What Are Weight Loss Ads Really Selling?” For this Assignment I decided to show the impact a commercial can have on society by showing how the ads for weight loss programs like Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers, really affect women. They can cause a women to feel unbeautiful, unhappy or ashamed of their own body. I show how they can then begin to take it too far by developing unhealthy eating habits. To show this point I first did a lot of research on the matter. I looked up how advertisements can cause eating disorders. I found facts about women and young girls looking at advertisements and the media for what the ideal body type is. Then I looked up statistically how many of them develop eating disorders. I did this in order to know I had hard evidence to back up my thesis. I then looked at the images these ads have.
