Being a student, it is important for us to speak what we see and what we feel. That is why in every institution, there is an organ to promote the students interests. The Channel, as one of the media of information, is a source of information in DWCL as the official organ of the students. “To serve as the voice of the students in promoting their interests and welfare, to create an atmosphere of awareness and involvement in issues concern of them, and to share literary pieces contributed by the students, are the objectives of the Channel.” 1 The college of engineering and computer studies (COECS) students had been silent in promoting their mode of interests, that’s why the researcher is seeking for answers on how the publication affects the engineering students, particularly the civil engineering, or if it really is. 1. Editorial policies. THE CHANNEL. 2010 Statement of the problem This study is aiming to know the impact and effectiveness of the Channel to the CE students, specifically answers from the following question: 1. How many CE students are enrolled in DWCL? 2. Have anyone of the CE students applied for a position in the Channel editorial board? 3. Do these CE students seek for a copy of the channel latest issue? 4. Do they read the newspaper? 5. Do these CE students share some of their literary arts to the publication? 6. How the publication affects the views of the CE students towards the school?

Statement of the hypothesis The communication between the publication and the students affects the performance of the publication.
