The Game Codeword is a word-guessing game, somewhat like Hangman. A secret word is chosen, and the player has 10 chances to guess the word (in this version, all the secret words are four letters long). Each time the player makes a guess, the player is told how many of the letters in their guess were in the correct location in the secret word, and how many letters were in the secret word, but in the wrong location. Example: if the secret word is frog , and the player guesses … pita None of the letters p , i , t or a are in frog , so there are 0 correct letters in the correct place, and 0 correct letters in the wrong place pork The letters o and r are in frog , but not in the correct place – so there are 0 correct letters in the correct place, and 2 correct letters in the wrong place fear The letter f is in frog and is in the correct place, and the letter r is in frog , but not in the correct place – so there is 1 correct letter in the correct place, and 1 correct letter in the wrong place For an explanation on how to deal with letters that appear multiple times in the guess/secret word, see the extra features section. Here are two example games.
