A leader should have defining qualities that allow them to lead with everyone’s interest in mind. A leader does not have to be perfect, but a leader should be confident in their decisions and loyal to their team. In The Odyssey, Odysseus is well known for his cleverness and loyalty, which can be compared to Abraham Lincoln, but Odysseus is also very prideful. In the movie, Tiresias tells Odysseus, “You are clever but not a wise man.” Pride is his downfall as it will cause many of his challenges. Fortunately, Odysseus is able to overcome these situations with his cleverness. Throughout The Odyssey, Odysseus exhibits cleverness and loyalty during his long journey. Odysseus’ defining characteristic is his cleverness which helps him make smart decisions during some situations. During the Trojan War, he comes up with the idea of a wooden horse posing as a monument to Athena. Odysseus’ Trojan War helps the Greeks win the Trojan War.
